For the first time since Ashdod's new Assuta Hospital opened, the Labor and Delivery Department opened its doors, and two Ashdod women gave birth to two baby boys.
According to Assuta, one of the women gave birth naturally, and the other gave birth via Cesarean section. Both mothers and babies are doing well.
The new delivery ward will employ forty midwives and twenty doctors, and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Heading the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is Professor Mordehai (Moti) Pansky.
Beginning on November 7, the hospital's emergency room will be open continuously, marking the beginning of Assuta Ashdod's operations as a full-fledged hospital.
